Stacking the Shelves (1): January 1-17

I’ve always been a big fan of book haul photos and posts shared by fellow bloggers, so I’m pretty excited to be taking part in my very first Stacking the Shelves post today featuring books I’ve received so far this month.

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! If you want to find out more about Stacking The Shelves, please visit the official launch page!

Many thanks to Book Outlet for their amazing Boxing Day sale! I managed to snag all of the books pictured for less than $35 and that included shipping!

Next, we have a whollllle bunch of ARCs!! Look at all of these beauties! Some are borrowed, some are gifted from generous friends and one is from a fabulous publicist and her team that I’ve gotten to know over the past few months! Many thanks to Bloomsbury for the AMAZING Lion Heart ARC, Heather for the HarperCollins ARCs,  and also to Kristina at Gone Pecan, Jaime at Fic Fare and Nikki at There Were Books Involved for your fabulous generosity!

I put myself on a six month book buying ban a few days ago (more on that below), but thankfully I squeezed this purchase in at the last minute! I can’t wait to read these two and have my entire world shattered.

So…about that book-buying ban! I know, six months may as well be SIX YEARS when it comes to not being able to buy books. Here’s the thing, I reallllllly wanted a new blog design so I struck a bargain with my husband and told him that I would put myself on a self-imposed buying ban in order to hire a designer for a custom blog.

In my mind the trade-off is totally worth it because I have the most gorgeously new blog to debut to all of you on Monday! Anna at Anna Marie Moore Web Designs, is not only a seriously talented designer, but she’s also super kind and provides amazing service. She gave me a little snippet of my new blog to share with you all! Take a look…

Make sure you come back MONDAY to see my brand new

  1. I could never do a book buying ban (even though I have plenty of books to read!), but a custom design is a good reason for one. Can’t wait to see your new design!

  2. AHH SARAH IT’S THE HAUL OF ALL HAULS. I myself haven’t succumbed to Book Outlet, but look at all of those great series! I’ve been hearing awesome things about Brandon Sanderson so I’m excited to see what you think of them. And ooh lala those ARCs! I’m dying to read I’LL MEET YOU THERE. Such fabulous reviews already!

Enjoy the reading you have ahead of you, Sarah!

  3. Awesome haul! I finally got my books from the Boxing Day sale a few days ago and I’m really excited that I got such a great deal. Book Outlet is definitely one of my new fave sites. I really want to read I’ll Meet You There and The Sin Eater’s Daughter! I hope you enjoy all of your new books 🙂

  4. Can’t wait to see the new design!

Good luck with the book buying ban. Based on the ridiculous amount of unread books I have, I should do it, too, but I have zero discipline, so it’s not even worth contemplating.

I’m reading Golden Son right now. So far, I’m enjoying it more than Red Rising. I was one of the few who didn’t care much for RR, but I wanted to give the series a shot.

Of your other books, the only one I’ve read is Reboot, which I loved. Enjoy them all!

    • That was my theory! I have at least 50-75 books sitting on my shelves waiting to be read! Between that and ARCs i think i’ll be able to suffer through the next 6 months! Thankfully my pre-orders don’t count so I’ll still have those coming! Lol!

  5. What an amazing haul, Sarah! I loooooved Of Beast and Beauty, Reboot, and Through the Ever Night! And I’m super excited for Emmy & Oliver and to binge read the Scarlet series. 🙂 Have fun with all of these books, lady! ❤

  6. Holy wow, so many pretties! I really should get that copy of Anne of Avonlea… And omgsh, A Wicked Thing and Emmy & Oliver! Hope you enjoy all the reading.
