Waiting on…99 Days by Katie Cotungo

99 Days by Katie Contungo caught my attention about a month or so ago, and since then I’ve been oohhing and ahhhing over the cover, and also obsessing over the book description. It sounds like the perfect mix of romance, heart ache and drama. Which is riiiigght up my alley!  After reading some of the comments on Goodreads, I have a feeling that I’m going to be doing a lot of this while reading… giphy

and I have a strong suspicion I’ll be doing plenty of this…

giphy

but ultimately, I’m hoping I’ll close the book after reading that final page and do this…

giphy I mean, isn’t that what all of the best books are supposed to do? Make your feels go into overdrive and have you wanting to say all of the things!! TMYK 2283657599 Days by Katie Cotungo Publication: 4/21/15 by Balzer + Bray Pre-order this book Day 1: Julia Donnelly eggs my house my first night back in Star Lake, and that’s how I know everyone still remembers everything—how I destroyed my relationship with Patrick the night everything happened with his brother, Gabe. How I wrecked their whole family. Now I’m serving out my summer like a jail sentence: Just ninety-nine days till I can leave for college, and be done. Day 4: A nasty note on my windshield makes it clear Julia isn’t finished. I’m expecting a fight when someone taps me on the shoulder, but it’s just Gabe, home from college and actually happy to see me. “For what it’s worth, Molly Barlow,” he says, “I’m really glad you’re back.” Day 12: Gabe got me to come to this party, and I’m actually having fun. I think he’s about to kiss me—and that’s when I see Patrick. My Patrick, who’s supposed to be clear across the country. My Patrick, who’s never going to forgive me.

I’m hoping you all have a wonderful time whatever your plans may be!

Another thing I look forward to this time of year is being able to snuggle up with a great book in front of my wood stove. It’s such a delicious treat to be able to take some time out for myself to shut out the world and escape for a bit. Which is why I’m loving this week’s top ten topic. It gave me a chance to start working on my TBR and today I’m sharing it with you! Here’s some of the books I’m most looking forward to reading this winter. I’ve already read The Start of Me and You, as well as I’ll Meet You There, but they were both so amazing that I decided  I need a re-read sooooon! Seriously, if these two books aren’t already on your pre-order list you need to add them ASAP! I loved The Start of Me and You even more than Open Road Summer, and I’ll Meet You There is one of my very favorite books ever!

The Start of Me and You / The Orphan Queen / The Ghosts of Heaven
I’ll Meet You There / I Was Here / When Reason Breaks / Finnikin of the Rock

Sisterhood of the World Book Bloggers Tag

Happy Saturday friends!! Hopefully you’re out enjoying your day and being awesome! I had to work today so make sure you have some fun for me. Speaking of…I was recently nominated for this tag and thought it would be a fun Q&A to post for you all!

sisterhood-of-world-blogger-award-286x300

Apparently, no one really knows who started this tag but whoever you are, wherever you may be…thanks so much! I was tagged by Ashlea and Angie, the dynamic duo behind Disquietus Reads. Thanks so much ladies!

giphy

Here’s the rules…rules are good!

1. Thank the blogger that nominated you and link back to their website.
2. Post the award’s logo on your blog.
3. Answer the ten questions you have been asked.
4. Nominate ten other bloggers and ask them ten other questions.

Next up, the questions! Oh yeah…and my answers too!
1.What is one book or series that you would make everyone read if you could?

For those of you that follow my blog, I’m sure you already know what I’m going to say! All together now…THRONE OF GLASS! If you haven’t read this series that needs to change immediately!

TOG

2. Who is your favorite book boyfriend/girlfriend?

Ummm…this is actually really hard for me to choose. I wrote a big post about it back in July, so you can always check that out for my top ten book boyfriends! Needless to say the list has only grown since then. Some highlights from that list are Levi from Fangirl, Matt Finch from Open Road Summer, Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables! If I were to come up with that list now I’d have to add Max from The Start of Me and You, Silas from All Broke Down and Rowan from Heir of Fire!

3. What are your favorite book covers?

My current favorite book cover is A Thousand Pieces of You, I could stare at that thing all day!

source: goodreads

4. Name 3 fictional places you would move to in a heartbeat.

My choices are all from fantasy novels because I’d love nothing more than to escape to a completely different world and experience life in a way I’ve never known before! So I choose Ravka from The Grisha Trilogy (preferably FAR away from The Fold), Erilea from the Throne of Glass series, and Arjinna from Exquisite Captive!

5. What books are you looking forward to most in 2015?

Ummm….do you guys have a couple of hours for me to review? You can see my 2015 shelf on Goodreads here, but some of my MOST anticipated are Lion Heart by AC Gaughen, Throne of Glass #4 and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios (I’ve already read this and it’s freaking AMAZING!), The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord (also read…also AMAZING!), Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, All Played Out by Cora Carmack and Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. You know, just to name a few!

6. Name your favorite and least favorite books of 2014.

You can see my favorites here…seriously…there are too many to list here! As far as least favorite, I’d have to say The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Just Like the Movies, The Young World and Vault of Dreamers left me cold.

7. Who is your most owned author?

Sarah J. Maas, Leigh Bardugo and Stephanie Perkins all take up the most real estate on my shelves.

8. When and why did you start blogging?

I started blogging this past May after being inspired by some book bloggers I befriended on Twitter. They were super encouraging of my desire to start a blog, but I was totally nervous and intimidated. They showed me a LOT  of love and I finally felt confident to strike out on my own.

giphy

9. What is your favorite thing about blogging?

My favorite thing would definitely be all the friends I’ve made! It’s been such a great experience to get to know so many amazing people who love reading as much as I do and understand the importance sharing their love with the rest of the world!

10. What hobbies do you have besides reading?

Ummm…blogging! Seriously, that and reading take up a ton of my personal life. Which I don’t mind since I enjoy them both so much.

My questions for the ridiculously talented ladies I tagged:
  1. If you could choose one book to re-read once a year for the rest of your life, what would it be?
  2. What book character have you identified with the most while reading?
  3. If you could choose a whirlwind tour of 5 locations from any of the books you’ve ever read, which would you choose. They can be real or fantasy!
  4. Recommend a book for someone who normally doesn’t enjoy reading. What book would you pick to change their mind?
  5. What is your favorite movie or television adaptation of a book you’ve read?
  6. What is your most anticipated book of 2015?
  7. What is the longest book you have ever read?
  8. What’s your best blogging tip?
  9. Tell us about your favorite blogging experience you’ve had. Was it meeting a fellow blogger? Attending a conference or book signing?
  10. When and why did you start blogging?
The fabulous and talented bloggers I have nominated are:
  1. Morgan at Gone with the Words
  2. Ginger at GReads!
  3. Gail at Ticket to Anywhere
  4. Kristina at Gone Pecan
  5. Jess at Gone with the Words
  6. Lindsey at A Bookish Sinister Kid
  7. Rachel at Beauty and the Bookshelf
  8. Nicole at Nicole’s Novel Reads
  9. Daphne at Gone Pecan
  10. Sajda at Across the Words

Sorry if you’ve already been tagged! Look at it this way…you’re SUPER popular!

Fangirl Friday: Around the Blogosphere

Happy Friday friends…hope you all had a great week and that you have fantastic plans for this weekend. I thought I’d take some time on this Fangirl Friday to share some of my favorite posts from the past week! There  were so many great reviews, special features and Top Ten lists, that I just had to come to my fangirl safe zone to flail and squee about them with all of you!

Special appearances from some rainbows, unicorns and a couple of kitties…because they make me smile!

Tuesday is one of my favorite days of the week since it gives me all sorts of amazing Top Ten Tuesday posts to pour over. This week was no exception, and I think I added approximately 148 new books to my TBR thanks to it! Top Ten Tuesday lists from Book Rock Betty, The Quiet Concert and Love at First Page contributed greatly to this increase in books, so I’ll just blame them when I become a total shut-in reading ALL.THE.BOOKS!

BBR Header

I really loved Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle and I thought the ladies over at Bookish Broads did and amazing job of re-capping and reviewing the book using their signature sass and wit…oh and perfect gif usage of course. Check out their review here!

Another book I’ve read recently that I really enjoyed was The Walled City by Ryan Graudin. Jamie over at Fic Fare gives us a fantastic review that really gets to the heart of the novel and what makes it so amazing!

Top Ten Clues You’re Clueless by Liz Czukas has been on my radar for a while now, and after reading this review on The Book Addict’s Guide,  I decided it’s a must read for me. I really enjoy how Brittany breaks down her reviews into sections that focus on characters, addiction factor and she even includes her status updates from Goodreads…so fun!

The ridiculously awesome ladies over at Cuddlebuggery debuted a new look recently and as part of their celebration they are hosting a Getting to Know You Blog Hop that I decided to take part in! I had a blast pulling my post together and it’s been so great discovering new blogs and welcoming new visitors to my own blog!

Hannah at So Obsessed With and Alexa over at Alexa Love Books recently unveiled this AMAZING feature on both of their blogs called Fall Into Fantasy! I’ve been reading along with each of their posts and have found them so entertaining and seriously amazing! If you are a YA fantasy groupie like me, then this is a feature you cannot miss. Check out Hannah’s posts here and Alexa’s posts here!

Every week we are treated to a delicious little feature on Andi’s ABCs called “The ABCs with…”! This week it was Gail’s turn to share her current faves for Accessories, Books and Clothes, and I’m kind of obsessed with that necklace! I can’t wait for my turn to be featured on “The ABCs With…”! Stay tuned for that coming SOON!

Seriously, I can’t get enough of Jamie’s “New to the Queue” feature! Every once in a while she’ll pop into her blog, The Perpetual Page-Turner, to share her latest faves and current obsessions! This week she told us that she’s succumbed to all of the fangirling over The 100, which cracks me up because I’ve decided to watch it as well because of all the buzz it’s been getting in my Twitter feed lately!

Hopefully you all have submitted your votes for the Book Shimmy Awards! If you haven’t already be sure to head on over and vote in the semi-final round before Tuesday, November 25th! After that the finals start Wednesday, November 26 and we can all vote on the final four in each category! This is your chance to let your voice be heard, so you can fangirl from the roof tops!

My Friends are Fiction got an awesome new site design, so you should definitely check that out!

This gift giving guide from The Book Addict’s Guide has been a HUGE help in all the shopping I’m doing for all of the Secret Santa’s I’ve signed up for. There’s some great gift ideas in here for your favorite bookworm so be sure to head on over to beef up your shopping list!

What post had me cracking up this most this week? That would be The 21 Stages of Finding a New OTP from Cuddlebuggery! OMG…much funny! All the laughs! Best use of gifs EVAR…and we all know how much I love gifs!

Hope you enjoyed my little tour of the interwebz this week.

Waiting on…Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge

I’ve discovered over the past year that I really enjoy fairytale, myth and legend re-tellings! I adore the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer for its futuristic re-telling of the Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel fairy tales, as well as the Scarlet series by A.C. Gaughen for her gender-bending twist on the Robin Hood legend. There’s nothing I appreciate more than an author who takes a story we all know and love and re-imagines it into a fresh and unique story.

giphy

Needless to say, I was immediately intrigued when I read the description of Crimson Bound and discovered it was inspired by Little Red Riding Hood. This book seems right up my alley and I cannot wait to get my hands on it and binge read! Hodge’s previous novel, Cruel Beauty, a standalone not associated with Crimson Bound, has been on my TBR for the longest time, so I think I’ll read that one right before Crimson Bound is released and have a Rosamund Hodge’s marathon! Wow…I’m a genius!

Top Ten…Sequels I Can’t Wait To Read

Another Tuesday, another epic Top Ten to share with all of you! I really am loving taking part in this weekly meme, because it gives me an opportunity to interact with so many new faces and also introduces me to so many new books! So, here’s to another fun-filled week!

Source: The Broke and The Bookish

Source: The Broke and The Bookish

The topic this week is the top ten sequels I am most looking forward to! Let’s do this…

giphy

patiently waiting

AllPlayedOutI just finished reading the first two books in the Rusk University series, All Lined Up and All Broke Down, and maaaan where they good! Absolutely amazing New Adult novels with the perfect mix of compelling story lines and sexy times!

Blood PassageI’m hoping this follow-up to Exquisite Captive gives us a glimpse into the jinni world of Arjinna, because we got a small glimpse of it in book one and I’m totally intrigued!

FamousInLOveNo name for this one yet, but I adored the story of Paige and Rainer…and Jordan, in Famous in Love. I realllllly need to know what happens…like bad!

FirebirdI’m currently reading A Thousand Pieces of You, the first book in this series, and I’m enjoying it so much I’m already eagerly anticipating the next!

LionHeartWhere do I even begin with this series! It’s one of my all-time faves and as excited I am about the final book, it also makes me super sad to think this will be the LAST one!

giphy

passing the time

The BoyMostI think I’d read the phonebook if they put Huntley Fitzpatrick’s name on the front of it. So when I heard she was writing a book about Tim from her book The Boy Next Door, I squeed like the good little fangirl I am! Plus, I’m really hoping my book boyfriend Jase Garrett makes an appearance!

TOG4I mean, really? Do I really need to explain WHY I’m waiting on this one? Ok fine, I’ll give you five reasons…Celaena, Chaol, Dorian, Rowan, Manon! Case closed!

Winners CrimeI’m going to be honest, The Winner’s Crime had a slow start for me, but by the last third of the book I was hooked. I’ve been seeing a lot of tweets and Goodreads updates regarding a lot of feels associated with this book and we all know how I love a good feel!

FairestI just posted about Fairest a couple of weeks ago for my Waiting on Wednesday selection. I love a good villain origin story, so I’m pumped to learn more about Queen Levana and her delicious evilness!

WinterI guess this one is a no-brainer since I just told you I’m waiting on Fairest, but I figured I’d just tell you I’m also pretty psyched about Winter!! You know, in case you were wondering!

Let’s chat! Which sequels are you not so patiently waiting on? What do you do to distract yourself to help pass the time!? 😉
